Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Test Development Engineer to join our team in our Penang, Malaysia factory. The Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements cost-effective solutions for manufacturing tests for several high frequency, high voltage circuits and systems that ensure high quality standards. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely, flexible, universal tools and processes. The Test Engineer makes knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.

• Ensure testability and serviceability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing.
• Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, completes specifications and procedures for new products and for product design changes throughout the product’s lifecycle.
• Accurately estimate project costs and schedules associated with implementing test solutions.
• Owns test requirements from the vendor, to shipment, to the customer.
• Verify products meet their functional requirements - including design verification and manufacturing screens.
• Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of product test development experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing test environment.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence design team decisions.
• Demonstrated experience solving complex technical problems with minimal assistance.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience with a variety of General-Purpose Test Equipment use and automation, including: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, DAQs, and Switches.
• Expertise in programming automation and data collection.
• Programming experience in NI Labview and TestStand, C++, SQL, and/or Python.
• Source code control experience.

Highly Desired Skills:

• Experience in power supply testing or design.
• Object Oriented Programming Skills.
• 6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology.

Regularly working in lab, office, and manufacturing facilities with power output up to 60 kW. Travel to international manufacturing and/or development locations may be required throughout the product’s lifecycle.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
