Job description

Distribution/Warehouse Associate

Under general supervision, performs a variety of distribution and/or warehouse duties, including packing, pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping, and material handling. Assists with clerical tasks such as shipping, receiving, and inventory management using a computerized system.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Utilize automated warehouse or distribution management systems.
  2. Complete Quality Deficiency Reports (QDRs) and scrap tickets for defective materials; verify rejected materials with operators. Complete Bills of Lading for recyclable items.
  3. Enter new items into the system, including descriptions, weights, and storage/pick characteristics.
  4. Report and record discrepancies to relevant departments.
  5. Process work-in-progress, finished goods, raw materials, and branch assignments into the computer system.
  6. Keypunch transaction tickets and organize move tickets for proper loads.
  7. Maintain inventory and direct incoming stock to appropriate pick/drop areas.
  8. Operate hand and power equipment such as hand trucks and forklifts for material handling.
  9. Receive incoming materials or prepare materials for shipment, verifying quantities, weights, and conformance.
  10. Prepare shipping records, bills of lading, and route materials accordingly.
  11. Fabricate and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and prepare parts for special shipments.
  12. Ensure delivered materials are in good condition and match order specifications, verifying items and quantities.
  13. Move, count, sort, and organize materials in designated locations, ensuring proper marking.
  14. Manage trash, recyclables, and cardboard disposal, coordinating with removal services.
  15. Report damaged goods, shortages, unidentified materials, or other anomalies to supervisors or Quality Control.
  16. Follow all food safety, health, and safety procedures and policies.
  17. Attend required safety and technical training sessions.
  18. Implement ISO 9000, GMP, and HACCP procedures relevant to the role.
Skills & Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in the food or manufacturing industry.
  • Completed forklift safety training.
  • Flexible to work in a rotational shift schedule, 5.5 days per week.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.
