Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 5 & 6 English Teacher to join our Middle School team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced educator with a strong background in delivering engaging and creative learning experiences that inspire, motivate, and challenge students. The role also includes serving as a Mentor Teacher to Year 5 students, providing enhanced pastoral care and fostering their overall development.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver well-planned, engaging, and inquiry-based English lessons for Year 5 & 6 students.
• Provide pastoral care and mentorship to Year 5 students, supporting their academic and personal growth.
• Set high expectations that inspire and challenge students.
• Create a positive and collaborative classroom environment that encourages student participation.
• Develop and adapt curriculum materials in line with international education standards.
• Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Contribute to the wider school community and support extracurricular activities.
• Adjust to a new environment with cultural sensitivity and respect.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
• Experience teaching VCE, CAIE, IB, IEB, or another reputable international curriculum.
• Bachelors Degree in Education or a degree with PGCE.
• Outstanding command of the English language.
• Experience with inquiry-based teaching approaches.
• Strong ability to adapt to new environments and work collaboratively.
• Proficiency in teaching Humanities at Year 5 level.

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of student management systems (iSAMS, SIMS, etc.).
• Level 1 Google Educator certification.
• Previous teaching experience in Southeast Asia.
