Your Role as Senior / Principal Transport Planner:
You are experienced in working on and leading world-class transport planning and mobility projects within a Malaysia based transport consultancy. You are motivated by the fast pace of change in South-East Asia and the growing importance of transport to the quality of life in diverse communities. You can effectively leverage your experience and relationships in technical excellence, project management and business development to managing international teams on large mobility assignments

Your Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Based on your experience, you will be responsible for providing excellent client service, managing a portfolio of projects in South-East Asia with a diverse and changing mix of team members across all our offices, collaborating with other international teams within Ramboll, and developing external partnerships when needed to prepare and pursue opportunities that match our global strategy and best suit the needs of our clients. You will align your previous experience with training in the Ramboll Project Management Model so that you can confidently run projects with direct client contact.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead large transport planning and IFI studies / projects for our Urban & Transport Planning business
  • Lead projects of varying sizes and complexity within Malaysia, Singapore and South East Asia, including multidisciplinary projects
  • Work closely with our Singapore team and travel occasionally to the Singapore office
  • With focus on client’s requirements ensuring the projects are managed / delivered within time and budget along with excellent quality deliverables. Training and mentoring team members
  • Collaborate with experts and specialists in across Ramboll’s global network
  • Develop existing and new client relationships through demonstration of technical excellence and Client Focus
  • Participate occasionally in conferences with presentations on Ramboll’s new approaches or state-of-the-practice project deliveries
  • Win projects through pitching ideas and writing high quality proposals via both proactive efforts as well as RFP’s.
  • Help to hone Ramboll’s value in the transport market from a multidisciplinary approach, evaluating our place in the market and unique value propositions by drawing on market intelligence and experience with key stakeholders
  • Occasionally travel for project meetings and/or business development around Asia-Pacific
  • Participate in thought leadership activities such as conferences, client meetings, and professional societies to represent Ramboll on transport and sustainability related topics
Qualifications

Your Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in urban planning, transport planning, traffic engineering, or similar
  • 7+ years of experience with transport planning/consulting projects in South-East Asia
  • Experience in a Malaysia based transport planning consultancy firm
  • Large project leadership and technical excellence in transport planning, town/regional master-planning and strategic network planning
  • Close relationships with potential clients from a range of fields including but not limited to local and national government agencies, architects, developers, investors, development banks etc.
  • Understanding of transport modelling domain and ability to direct strategic/meso/micro-simulation with the appropriate oversight to obtain the desired project outcomes
  • Strong project management experience related to the transport, urban planning industry
  • Desirable experience leading Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), e-mobility studies, cycling studies, socio-economic impact assessments, transport economics
  • Desirable experience and references working with International Financial Institutions (World Bank, Asia Development Bank, European Investment Bank), European Union, Governmental Agencies, and/or private investors
  • Confident English language skills (written and verbal), including clear spoken and written communication and negotiating skills
  • Familiarity with and comfortable using digital solutions, platforms, and tools
  • Willingness to travel and work/communicate with international clients via online collaboration tools for meetings, workshops, and assignments
