Job summary

A leading company in the food industry is seeking an experienced accountant to manage daily transactions, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in accounting and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is essential. The role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Job description

· Record daily transactions including expenses, payments, and receipts.

· Maintain and update general ledger accounts in a timely and accurate manner.

· Conduct monthly checks, verify supplier invoices, prepare payment vouchers, and ensure timely payments to suppliers.

· Reconcile supplier statements and AP balances on a monthly basis.

· Verify customer invoices, monitor aging reports, and follow up on overdue payments.

· Perform monthly bank reconciliations to match internal records with bank statements.

· Prepare salary payments (by cash & bank) and record monthly payroll in the journal.

· Prepare monthly journal entries including depreciation, accruals, and provisions.

· Maintain and update fixed asset register with acquisition and disposal records.

· Prepare and analyze monthly Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheet, and monthly budgeting cash flow reports for management.

· Assist in corporate income tax computations and liaise with external tax agents.

· Assist with other ad-hoc tasks and finance-related projects as required by management.

Requirements:

1. Diploma in Accounting or equivalent qualification.

2. Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting-related position, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.

3. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

4. Proficient in English and Malay; additional languages are an advantage.

5. Good oral and written communication skills.

6. Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines under pressure.

7. Self-motivated, proactive, result-oriented, self-driven, and a fast learner.

8. Excellent problem-solving skills.

9. Ability to multitask and handle tasks independently.
