Main Duties / Role:
The Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and integration of CCTV systems for railway infrastructure projects, particularly ensuring alignment with technical standards, project schedules, and budgetary requirements. Based in Johor Bahru, the Assistant Manager will also play a key role in managing cross-functional teams, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring effective stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the technical design, installation, and commissioning of CCTV systems.
Oversee and review project specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure smooth project execution.
Ensure that the system meets safety regulations and quality control standards.
Manage resources and materials in line with the project schedule.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
Prepare technical documentation and reports.
Coordinate with clients and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
Ensure adherence to project schedules using Primavera Project Planner (P6).
Conduct risk assessments and manage any issues that arise.
Maintain effective communication and documentation processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Actively engage in client meetings and site visits to monitor progress and address concerns.
Must be based in Johor Bahru and able to travel as required to other project sites and client locations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in project engineering, with a focus on CCTV systems, preferably in the railway or transportation sector.
Must be proficient in Primavera Project Planner P6 Version 6 or the latest version.
Strong understanding of railway operations and safety standards.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel as part of the job.
Residency or willingness to be based in Johor Bahru.
Reports:
The Assistant Manager will report directly to the Project Manager, providing regular updates on project progress, technical challenges, and potential risks. They will also be responsible for preparing reports on the technical aspects of the CCTV system for review by senior management and clients.
