Job Responsibilities
To be the supervising Mechanical and Electrical Inspector of Works (IOW) on site and to attend to all necessary liaison between project stakeholders at site.
To report to the Project Director and Project Manager on site Mechanical and Electrical matters.
To discharge duty diligently and to ensure that supervision of Mechanical and Electrical site works conform to design intent, specifications and drawings.
To ensure instructions and directions from time to time related to Mechanical and Electrical works are carried out by Contractor properly and timely in conformity with the Contract.
To ensure Mechanical and Electrical site works are carried out in accordance to the approved Work Method Statements.
To review and approve submission of sample approval.
To highlight discrepancies between drawings and issue technical queries.
To ensure Mechanical and Electrical site works are carried out with good engineering an construction practice.
To carry out inspections and instruct testings accordingly to ensure Mechanical and Electrical works are in conformity with the contract.
To track and record day to day site progress of Mechanical and Electrical works, to verify progress of works and activities reported in Contractor’s weekly and monthly progress reports and to advise the project team accordingly.
To attend all site meetings and any other meetings related to M&E site works.
To assist in reviewing shop drawing related to M&E site works.
To plan and implement day-to-day supervision activities of the M&E team.
To record and report day-to-day site M&E site activities.
To assist and provide work measurement records for progress payments (to handle site verification for claim evaluation).
To assist project team in assessment of potential contractual claims and variations and take adequate measures to avoid them.
To assist project team to identify potential schedule delay and to assist assessment of extension of time if there are valid reasons for project schedule delay.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering site supervision
Registered with BEM/IEM as an Inspector of Works
Demonstrate experience and understanding of local codes, standards, regulations and submission requirements (liaison with client, consultants, subcontractors, authorities including MBK, BOMBA, PAIP, TNB, IWK and Telekom)
Able to work with minimum supervision and independent
Well-versed with engineering/drafting software e.g. AutoCAD, Staadpro, Revit, Esteem, Orion
Understand the dynamic of working with a team and possess knowledge of client coordination and building relationships
Responsible person with good communication skills
Possess valid driving license and willing to travel
