About the Role

Ashton Smithe is recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing company for the position of QAQC Manager. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of food safety and quality management systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all products meet internal and regulatory quality standards while driving continuous improvement across quality assurance and control operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the company’s Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions to ensure full compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Implement and maintain HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and other relevant food safety systems and certifications
  • Lead internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, reporting, and follow-up actions
  • Manage product testing procedures and ensure consistency, safety, and quality across all production batches
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions in response to quality issues or customer complaints
  • Train and guide production staff on quality standards, hygiene practices, and SOPs
  • Liaise with suppliers, regulatory bodies, and customers on all QAQC-related matters
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in QA/QC management within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector
  • Solid knowledge of HACCP, ISO standards, GMP, and food safety regulations (local and international)
  • Experience in handling third-party audits and working with regulatory bodies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English; ability to communicate with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to be hands-on and to work closely with operations on the production floor
