A leading company in Malaysia seeks a Project Management Engineer to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The role involves managing project quality, cost, and safety while ensuring compliance with Malaysian regulations. Ideal candidates will have extensive project management experience and a relevant engineering degree.
As a Project Management Engineer, you will represent Golden Valley Group to work with the consultants and contractors to manage and oversee the construction of building projects.
You will be involved in managing the project from construction commencement to completion. Your main responsibilities are to ensure quality, cost, safety and timely delivery of the project. At the same time, you need to be involved upstream at the design stage to ensure considerations at construction stage are addressed.
Job Scope
Pre-Construction
Review and approve design drawings and specifications to ensure practicality and viability at construction stage.
Conduct construction tender, screen proposal and contractors’ profile, and propose to Management the most suitable main contractor to undertake the works.
Support project contract negotiations with main contractors, suppliers and external services providers
Construction Phase
Lead, manage, coordinate and cooperate with all parties involved to the assigned construction project (internal and external stakeholders), especially with the main contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure works are completed within the period stipulated and the budget allocated
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure works are carried out by the contractor in accordance with the Contract Documents and that the quality of works are of an acceptable standard of workmanship
identify potential construction related issues and resolve any technical and design issues with the consultants and contractors
coordinate with other agencies on any development issues
Prepare and present project status reports to senior management
Post Construction
Handle post construction feedback and improvement works related to the project.
Requirements
University Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Structural / Environmental Engineering or similar
At least 8 years of experience in Project Management in relevant field
Have a detailed understanding on current Malaysian construction regulations
Frequent travel availability within Malaysia
Attention to detail with the ability to efficiently manage complex technical projects and equally complex commercial negotiations
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
