Job Summary

As the Supply Chain Engineer for Glasseal Products: Malaysia, you will lead and coordinate all activities related to the development of the supplier base for products manufactured in the Penang facility. Your primary goal is to develop and manage a versatile and effective set of suppliers. You will act as the main interface between suppliers and your colleagues worldwide, fostering effective communication and collaboration to provide value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain a diversified set of suppliers for Glasseal Malaysia.
  2. Serve as the primary contact for suppliers, managing daily operations and development initiatives.
  3. Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, evaluating performance regularly.
  4. Collaborate with international colleagues to enhance supplier management and development for Glasseal Malaysia.
  5. Utilize the local MRP system (Navision) to meet production requirements with suppliers.
  6. Communicate effectively with factory departments to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
  7. Assist floor engineers and production teams with failure analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to suppliers and production.
  9. Maintain high standards of quality and ethics.
  10. Enforce safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  11. Participate in special projects and cross-functional teams as needed.
  12. Conduct supplier audits and assess supplier capabilities to meet delivery and quality requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Industry-specific experience, including knowledge of local suppliers and workforce.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex, international environment with global cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record in technical and business problem-solving and process improvement.
