Job description

The Assembly Team Leader - Furniture is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the assembly processes. This role ensures that assembly operations are executed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. The Assembly Team Leader manages workflow, trains staff, and collaborates with other departments to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and lead a team of assembly workers.
  2. Assign tasks, provide training, and ensure adherence to production and safety standards.
  3. Set daily priorities for the team.
  4. Provide leadership, feedback, and coaching to team members.
Assembly Operations
  1. Familiarity with hand tools such as cordless screwdrivers, drills, hand routers, hand planers, stapler guns, manual edge banding machines, etc.
  2. Familiarity with machinery such as table saws and thickness planers.
  3. Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  4. Monitor assembly processes to identify and address operational issues or bottlenecks.
  5. Knowledge of flow production, lean manufacturing, or line balancing is an advantage.
Quality Control
  1. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  2. Maintain a quality mindset.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience in a similar role, specifically in a furniture manufacturing environment.
  2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  3. In-depth knowledge of the furniture assembly process.
  4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  5. Sense of urgency.
  6. Good interpersonal skills.
