A leading company in the furniture manufacturing sector is seeking a Purchasing Executive to manage supplier relationships and procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, fluency in English and Mandarin, and proven negotiation skills. Responsibilities include identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with import/export regulations. This role requires strong analytical abilities and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new international suppliers for raw materials (e.g., wood, fabrics, leather, mechanisms), components, and others.
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential suppliers, primarily based in Mandarin-speaking regions.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve favorable terms while ensuring quality and reliability.
Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues related to delays or discrepancies.
Monitor market trends, analyze price fluctuations, and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate closely with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure alignment on material specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines for export shipments.
Manage supplier performance, conduct regular evaluations, and address any performance issues.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation, including supplier information, pricing, and order details.
Assist in developing and implementing purchasing strategies and processes to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant import/export regulations and documentation requirements.
Communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin Chinese with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) as a Purchasing Executive or similar role, preferably within the furniture manufacturing or export industry.
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese is essential. This is crucial for effective communication and negotiation with key suppliers.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of import/export procedures and documentation is an advantage.
Experience with ERP or purchasing software is a plus.
Willingness to travel internationally when required.
