Qualifications

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for the mechanical engineering & preparation of drawings and technical documentation required for the execution of Industrial projects (Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Mission Critical projects – Data Centre) from concept design, FEED design, and detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Review and analysis of regulatory requirements and safety design as per standards.
• Basis of Design / General Mechanical Drawings / Datasheets.
• Static & Utility Equipment Arrangement / Calculations & Technical specifications.
• HVAC duct & piping, Plumbing & Utilities drawings.
• Fire suppression piping systems.
• Review and developing the detailed mechanical engineering.
• Bill of Materials take-off.
• Coordination and management of equipment vendors.
• Technical clarification with vendors and/or sub-constructor.
• Review shop drawings and execute TBE of drawings sub-contractor.
• Ensuring design work interfaces well with that of other disciplines.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards and procedures.
• Coordinate, oversee, and supervise the site construction work and liaise with the site general contractor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 6-10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in industrial projects.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. PEng is an added advantage.
• Experienced in industrial work environments.
• Experience in Management of Change (MOC) projects is an added advantage. AutoCAD experience is a must.
• Good hands-on skills with 3D Modeling tools such as SketchUp, 3D Max, Revit, etc.
• Additional knowledge of 3D design software is an added value.
• Preferred good knowledge of HVAC load calculation, energy modeling, and efficiency optimization.
• Thorough knowledge of Malaysia codes and local legislative regulations / international codes.
• Experience working in multicultural teams and hybrid environments is an advantage.
• Good communication skills in English and Cantonese.
