Clinical Director (Malaysia - nationwide)
The Clinical Director is a key member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing the clinical performance, service quality, and professional standards across a network of clinics and dental outlets. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance clinical excellence with business outcomes. The Clinical Director will drive P&L accountability at the outlet level and play a critical role in identifying, planning, and executing business expansion initiatives to support the organization’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Operations Management
- Provide leadership and oversight of all medical and dental services to ensure delivery of safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care.
- Develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all clinical and dental settings.
- Drive performance improvements through data-driven decisions, workflow optimization, and technology adoption (e.g., EMR, diagnostic tools).
- Quality & Compliance Assurance
- Ensure compliance with national healthcare regulations, including Ministry of Health (MOH), medical/dental councils, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Oversee internal audits, risk management, clinical governance, and infection control measures.
- Ensure all practitioners maintain valid Annual Practicing Certificates (APCs) and are compliant with CPD requirements.
- Clinical Workforce Leadership
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, and ongoing performance management of doctors, dentists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Promote a culture of clinical excellence, continuous professional development, and ethical patient care.
- Monitor and improve team productivity, retention, and engagement.
- P&L Accountability
- Responsible for the financial performance of clinical operations across all outlets.
- Monitor and manage revenue, cost of services, operating expenses, and profitability per outlet and per service line.
- Partner with Finance and Clinic Operations teams to review monthly P&L statements, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop pricing strategies and manage resource allocation to optimize profit margins while maintaining quality.
- Strategic Business Expansion
- Identify market opportunities and lead the clinical assessment for new outlet openings, service line additions, and partnerships.
- Oversee Business Development and Marketing to create value-added service offerings aligned with market demand and revenue goals.
- Oversee due diligence and clinical readiness for mergers, acquisitions, or collaborations.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning, growth forecasts, and capacity-building initiatives.
Requirements:
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MD) or Dental Degree (BDS/DDS) from a recognized institution
- Valid APC and full registration with the local medical/dental council
- Minimum 8–10 years of clinical experience, with 3–5 years in a multi-site or management role
- Experience managing clinical P&L and contributing to business growth strategy
- Additional qualifications in business or healthcare management (MBA, MHA) are highly preferred
- Strong leadership with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional clinical teams
- High business acumen and financial literacy, especially in P&L and KPI tracking
- Strong understanding of healthcare technologies, EMR systems, and market dynamics
- Position can be based at Kuala Lumpur, Sibu, Kuching, or Sarikei offices with frequent site visits across clinics and dental outlets.
