A leading financial services provider in Malaysia is seeking a Head of Corporate Real Estate. The role involves developing strategies for real estate management, overseeing a portfolio, and leading a team. Candidates should have extensive experience in corporate real estate and strong leadership skills.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Corporate Real Estate to join our team at Manulife Malaysia reporting to the Asia Head of Corporate Real Estate and the Malaysia Chief Operations Officer. As the Head of Corporate Real Estate, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize our real estate portfolio, ensuring that it aligns with our business objectives and supports our overall growth strategy.
Position Responsibilities:
Real Estate Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive real estate strategy that supports the company's long-term goals. This includes analyzing market trends, identifying potential investment opportunities, and overseeing lease negotiations.
Portfolio Management: Manage the company's leased real estate portfolio. Optimize space utilization, oversee lease renewals, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Workplace Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative workplace solutions that enhance productivity, employee engagement, and well-being. Stay updated on industry best practices and implement relevant initiatives.
Financial Management: Develop and manage the real estate budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial objectives. Monitor expenses, analyze financial data, and provide regular reports to senior management.
Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors, including real estate brokers, property/building managers, architects, and construction firms. Ensure compliance with quality standards, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies related to real estate operations. Stay informed about regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior executives, business unit leaders, and HR, to understand their real estate needs and provide effective solutions. Foster strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor on real estate matters.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing real estate team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to team members, promoting professional growth and development.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate real estate, with a focus on portfolio management, lease negotiations, and workplace planning.
Strong knowledge of the Malaysian real estate market and regulations is essential.
Proven track record in developing and executing real estate strategies that align with business objectives.
Excellent financial acumen and budget management skills.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and make data-driven decisions.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Proficiency in both English and Bahasa languages is required.
