Job description

Position: Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics

Responsibilities:

• To teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses delivered by the School and, as required, to teach on associated programmes offered by the University
• To supervise student projects and assist them in understanding assignment requirements
• Design and execute formative and summative assessment including marking that is aligned with student learning outcomes
• Provide feedback to students on their learning through student consultations
• Monitoring of students performance on the programme, and continuous improvement of programme
• Participate in the administration of the programmes of study and other activities in the School and Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
• Conduct research in areas as per discussion with Dean/Head of Department
• Establish and maintain links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities
• Conduct public seminars on contemporary issues when necessary
• Take part in major public exhibitions, open days and road shows when required
• Engage with quality assurance procedures to ensure that University standards are met
• Other duties within the Faculty and University as required

Qualifications: Education details

• MBBS & Master / Fellowship / PhD or equivalent degree in related disciplines (Internal Medicine/O&G/ Anatomy/ General Surgery/ Anesthesiology/Family Medicine/Forensic Medicine/Pediatric/ Ortho), registered with the National Specialist Register of Malaysia, Valid APC and/ or relevant professional registers

Required Skills:

• Candidates should have at least 1 or more years of teaching experience in the relevant disciplines
• A strong knowledge of the subject area combined with a broad subject background enabling contributions to teaching program
• Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds
• Industry experience in the related field is an added advantage
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
