Position Overview:

This Technician Genset role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of generator sets (gensets) to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The technician will diagnose and troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Repair:
   1. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on equipment, machinery, and systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
   2. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other technical issues and implement appropriate solutions to restore functionality and reliability.
   3. Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to schedules and protocols to minimize downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
2. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
   1. Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, failures, or abnormalities to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
   2. Utilize diagnostic tools, test equipment, and technical manuals to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
3. Installation and Calibration:
   1. Install, configure, and calibrate new equipment, machinery, or systems according to specifications, standards, and safety protocols.
   2. Ensure proper alignment, setup, and integration of equipment components to optimize performance and functionality.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   1. Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents, injuries, or hazardous situations.
   2. Follow manufacturer instructions, technical specifications, and industry standards to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status, in maintenance logs or databases.
   2. Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and service records to track maintenance history, equipment performance, and compliance with maintenance schedules.

Qualifications:

1. Technical diploma or certificate in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of generator sets or similar equipment.
3. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in gensets. Knowledge of genset control systems and safety protocols.
4. Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various environmental conditions, and perform tasks that require physical exertion.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
