Job Requirements and Responsibilities
The candidate must possess a Minimum Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) or Polytechnic Certificate in Electrical or an equivalent qualification.
Professional Certificates & Licenses:
- Valid Chargeman license (e.g., A0, A1, A4, BO, or B4) issued by the Energy Commission (ST).
- License must be valid during employment.
Experience:
- Between 2 to 5 years of experience in maintenance, installation, and testing of electrical systems at construction sites or commercial buildings.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to read electrical drawings (Single Line Diagram, Layout).
- Experience with wiring systems, MSB, DB, MCB, VSD, motors, and grounding systems.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as insulation testers and earth testers.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Capability to supervise a technical team or subcontractors.
- Flexibility to work outside office hours or on-call if required.
Other Requirements:
- Physically healthy with a clean disciplinary record.
- Driver's license is preferred if site mobility is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical System Installation: Installing electrical wiring, switches, sockets, distribution boards, lights, and connecting main cables according to plans, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Site Supervision: Overseeing electrical work, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety, conducting tests, and participating in system commissioning.
- Maintenance & Repair: Maintaining electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and replacing faulty components.
- Electrical Safety Monitoring: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, reporting hazards, and implementing protective systems.
- Documentation & Reports: Preparing work reports, maintenance logs, test documentation, and assisting in audits and inspections.
- Stakeholder Relations: Liaising with engineers, architects, contractors, providing technical advice, and participating in site meetings.
