Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Halal compliance or food safety.
• Familiar with MS1500:2019, MPPHM, MHMS, MeSTI, Food Act 1983.
• Proficient in managing audit checklists and performing on-site audits.

Position: Executive, Halal Compliance

Location: Kelana Jaya (HQ)

Job Summary:

The executive will lead the implementation and monitoring of Halal and food safety standards across our operations. This role ensures compliance with JAKIM, MOH, and other regulatory requirements, while championing Halal integrity and food safety awareness throughout our supply chain and retail ecosystem.

Job Description:

• Develop and implement SOPs and policies related to Halal compliance, MeSTI, and general food safety standards.
• Conduct internal audits and store audits for Halal and food safety & hygiene practices.
• Maintain and update Halal and food safety certification records (e.g., supplier declarations, MeSTI certificates).
• Collaborate with Business Units/Procurement, Distribution, and Retail teams to ensure end-to-end compliance.
• Manage Halal-related risk assessments, non-compliance reports, and corrective actions.
• Drive employee training and quarterly awareness campaigns on Halal and food safety best practices.
• Investigate and resolve non-compliance issues, implement corrective action plans.
• Liaise with authorities such as JAKIM, KKM, and local councils for advisory and certification matters.
• Support Halal brand communication, including digital messaging and in-store materials.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Food Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Halal compliance, food safety, or related regulatory roles, particularly in the retail industry, is an advantage.
• Familiar with MS1500:2019, MPPHM, MHMS, MeSTI, Food Act 1983, Food Regulations 1985 etc.
• Proficient in managing audit checklists and performing on-site audits.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
