Get to Know the Team

As a Lead Product Designer on the Deliveries - Food/Mart team, you will be part of a group of accomplished product designers and UX writers who are shaping the future of online ordering and discovery. Based in Malaysia, you will have a high level of autonomy and collaborate actively with product managers, engineers, analysts, and business teams to influence the future of online ordering and discovery.

You will own product design outcomes for several problem space teams, ensuring quality and excellence. Working collaboratively, you will explore user needs and craft impactful solutions. You will report to the Senior Designer Manager and work onsite at the Grab Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Drive product design outcomes and strategic initiatives across teams.
• Ensure solutions are valuable, usable, feasible, and viable, while managing trade-offs and safeguarding goals.
• Defend design decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate alignment and efficiency across domains, functions, and teams.
• Lead problem exploration, solution discovery, and delivery, especially in complex situations.
• Support designers in adjacent teams to improve their work.
• Develop problem-framing approaches impacting multiple teams.
• Design simple solutions for complex problems, integrating multiple 'products' into a seamless experience.
• Produce visual designs that enhance user experiences.
• Utilize various prototyping tools and methods to create interactive prototypes.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Must Have: A portfolio of recent design work in English with at least 2 completed case studies, demonstrating your contribution and project impact. Include context, workflow, and how you move from problem discovery to launch.
• 6+ years of product design experience.
• Experience working on cross-functional product teams.
• Strong fundamentals in interaction and visual design.
• Experience coaching others in interaction design, visual design, or prototyping.
• Excellent knowledge of mobile and web standards and development.
• Proficiency with Figma, Protopie, After Effects, or other design tools.
