Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system
- Track and trace shipments as required
- Utilize Process Monitors and Workflows daily
- Ensure timely movement and delivery of freight to customers
- Send documents promptly to customers or brokers for customs purposes
- Ensure accurate and timely client invoicing
- Interact with customers to arrange shipments, exceeding customer service expectations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (Ocean carriers, trucking companies, etc.)
- Evaluate vendors periodically, focusing on improvements with corrective action plans when needed
- Collaborate with sales, customer retention, development, and account management to maintain and grow customer relationships
- Obtain updated rates and sailing schedules from carriers and co-loaders, and communicate regularly with customers
- Respond promptly to requests for proposals, quotations, or information with market-competitive pricing
- Perform rate analysis for service contracts to determine optimal costs and service levels
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations
- Follow customers' standard operating procedures and keep them updated
- Meet KPI standards as per company procedures
- Ensure effective communication and timely responses internally and externally
- Perform additional tasks as required to meet departmental needs
Minimum Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent
- At least 1-2 years of related experience in a similar position
- Understanding of transportation documentation and terms is a plus
- Good knowledge of computer applications and MS Office
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly
- Proactive with strong organizational skills
- Strong desire to learn
