Lead Agent - Ocean Export Customer Service

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
  2. Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system
  3. Track and trace shipments as required
  4. Utilize Process Monitors and Workflows daily
  5. Ensure timely movement and delivery of freight to customers
  6. Send documents promptly to customers or brokers for customs purposes
  7. Ensure accurate and timely client invoicing
  8. Interact with customers to arrange shipments, exceeding customer service expectations
  9. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (Ocean carriers, trucking companies, etc.)
  10. Evaluate vendors periodically, focusing on improvements with corrective action plans when needed
  11. Collaborate with sales, customer retention, development, and account management to maintain and grow customer relationships
  12. Obtain updated rates and sailing schedules from carriers and co-loaders, and communicate regularly with customers
  13. Respond promptly to requests for proposals, quotations, or information with market-competitive pricing
  14. Perform rate analysis for service contracts to determine optimal costs and service levels
  15. Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations
  16. Follow customers' standard operating procedures and keep them updated
  17. Meet KPI standards as per company procedures
  18. Ensure effective communication and timely responses internally and externally
  19. Perform additional tasks as required to meet departmental needs
Minimum Requirements
  1. Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent
  2. At least 1-2 years of related experience in a similar position
  3. Understanding of transportation documentation and terms is a plus
  4. Good knowledge of computer applications and MS Office
  5. Proficient in written and spoken English
  6. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly
  7. Proactive with strong organizational skills
  8. Strong desire to learn
