This position is a team lead role and reports to the Head of Brand, Marketing & Communications. The incumbent’s roles and responsibilities will be as follows:

80% of the responsibilities will be focused on brand-building and marketing initiatives for the SME and Commercial markets via online and offline channels, which includes driving SME and Commercial Business quality leads generation to achieve annual target.

20% would be on developing and executing creative materials, PR campaigns and media relation strategies focusing on corporate, product, employees and innovation stories, with trackable results. The incumbent would also be responsible for planning and executing the company’s Crisis Communication Plan.

Shortlisted candidates are expected to demonstrate example(s) of SME quality leads generation strategy with trackable results as well as brand-building initiatives among SMEs (detailed instructions will be given). Candidates will also need to present case studies of past actual accomplishments in B2B quality leads generation. Sufficient time will be given to prepare.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Team lead of the Commercial/SME marketing and PR/Communications team in Brand, Marketing & Communications department.

Commercial / SME business leads generation and business support

  • Develop and implement brand-building strategy and marketing initiatives for the SME and Commercial market segments, including SME business lead generation via online and offline. Incumbent is expected to use various channels, such as email, social media, content marketing, advertising, etc.
  • Create, drive and manage marketing campaigns to attract quality leads, with trackable results. Work closely with distribution teams to ensure smooth lead handover.
  • Conduct market research jointly with Business and strategic partners to identify target audiences and needs.
  • Develop and perform leads nurturing program by providing valuable information and resources.
  • Track and analyse lead generation metrics to ensure success.
  • Develop and communicate thought leadership articles and content to targeted segments. This also entails working with C-Suite and Senior Management in preparation for forums and keynote speaking engagement.
  • Development of marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, etc.

PR and Communications

  • Manages PR and communication campaigns, media relation strategies and Above-The-Line (radio, advertorials, etc) strategies to increase and enhance positive brand awareness of Berjaya Sompo Insurance with trackable results that go beyond PR reach and PR values. This will be a collaboration with the Integrated Marketing team in Brand, Marketing and Communications department.
  • Crafting creative and engaging short articles and advertorials on products, services and employer branding to drive social media engagement and corporate website visits (as part of brandformance).
  • Prepare and distribute press releases and, organise press conferences when needed.
  • Manage public relations/media and media monitoring agencies and evaluate RFPs for new agency.
  • Track media coverage and follow industry trends.
  • Owner of and manages Crisis Communication Plan with HOD and EXCO members.
  • Perform any other work given by Management from time to time.

Role Specifications:

  • The ideal candidate should have strong proven experience in successful B2B marketing and lead generation using online and offline methods.
  • Preferably 8 – 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of lead generation strategies and tools.
  • Hands-on leader with the ability to manage tight deadlines, budget and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly dynamic and regional environment. Ability to work cross-functionally with other groups, including but not limited to, product marketing, product management, underwriting, agency management, content marketing, customer marketing, demand generation, social media and events.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrate writing excellence when crafting product/services messaging, press releases, proactive pitches, blog posts and talking points.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is a must. Fluency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
