Job description

Prepare and ensure the timely and accurate submission of financial statements in compliance with Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standards (MPERs).

  1. Financial Reporting
    • Maintain and update the fixed assets register, including depreciation schedules and reconciliations.
    • Collaborate effectively with external auditors to facilitate audits and address audit queries.
  2. Taxation Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, including preparing and submitting corporate tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, and withholding tax filings.
    • Perform accurate tax and deferred tax computations in line with the Malaysian Income Tax Act.
    • Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess their impact, and provide regular updates to the management team.
  3. Process Improvement
    • Assist in implementing enhancements to financial reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Ensure proper documentation and internal controls for all accounting and taxation activities.
  4. Ad Hoc Assignments
    • Support management with financial reporting and taxation-related assignments, as required.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve overall financial operations.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance.
  • Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of MPERs, the Malaysian Income Tax Act, and tax computations (including deferred tax).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
