Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

The incumbent will oversee:

Lead and drive monthly price forecasting, market outlook report and sale price setting by facilitating market overview discussion with commercial to seek insights from commercial market intelligence, assessing and analyzing price movement, synthesizing the market fundamental movement from publications, understanding and identifying the appropriate cost builder for commercial pricing proposal to ensure robust planning of business strategy and operations. Manage, review and drive data consolidation and computation of the Enterprise Value for Group Base Oil as well as reviewing and following through the fairway framework for price discount request by captive. Supervise the contract development and management to ensure proper governance and risk mitigation is in place for all business dealing.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1)Market Outlook and Price Forecast

  • Lead and manage the forecasting of base oil prices and market outlook reporting by directing and establishing the appropriate method and approach for price forecast, engaging with in-house market intelligence to gauge the market condition on the ground, analyzing the historical price trend to predict future price movements and leveraging the available publications to synthesize in-house market outlook narrative in ensuring accurate and insightful market forecast for robust planning input and commercial price positioning strategy.

2)Sale Price and Intercompany Transfer Pricing Management

  • Lead and drive the development of the intercompany transfer pricing for base oil in collaboration with RMT EO by consolidating base oil input, analyzing the required data basis for transfer price construct to ensure that transfer pricing is set at arm’s length and competitive for PLI businesses to enable the base oil volume to flow to the best netback channel and pursue incremental sale volume. Lead and facilitate the sale price proposal including the internal PLI transfer price with Captive by directing, evaluating, simulating and reviewing the appropriate cost- price builder for commercial price setting and commercial decision making.

3)PLI Enterprise Value Analysis and Reporting

  • Lead, manage and drive the Enterprise Value (EV) analysis and reporting on system base oil for sales to captive and 3rd party based on the monthly data from Finance by consolidating, reviewing and analyzing the data to support the computation of the Base Oil EV and enabling value optimization across the various sale channel to achieve the best margin for the enterprise.

4)Price Fairway Management and Performance

  • Appraise the request for Fairway discount by analyzing the cost-to serve and EV simulation with recommendation given for onward approval process based on the EV threshold, implement the fairway performance periodic reporting by tracking and evaluating the Enterprise value creation for each fairway request to support the claim for value transfer.

5)Contract Management & Performance

  • Direct and oversee the establishment of contract for term and spot sale by engaging various stakeholders for requirement, guiding and advising the necessary term clauses , as well as analysing the contract performance to provide visibility to commercial team in driving sale volume and value and minimizing any value leak.

Qualification

  • Minimal 8 years experience in any related field, preferably in Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience in an international working environment.
