As Senior Project Manager - CCGT specialist, this is a unique opportunity for a highly experienced individual to take on a dual role capacity. In addition to leading overall project management activities, the successful candidate will serve as the CRE during the execution phase of a Multi-Unit H class Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant in Malaysia.

This role combines high-level strategic oversight with hands-on engineering leadership, offering a rare opportunity to shape and deliver the project from the ground up. You will be regarded as the “Go-To-Person” for project excellence and review.

About the Opportunity
  1. Develop and manage the project plan, ensuring all engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities are completed on time and within budget.
  2. You will be the key point of contact for the client and monitor all the work being conducted by the EPC Contractor.
  3. Act as a Chief Resident Engineer for the execution of a multi-unit H-Class CCGT plant, ensuring engineering quality, site coordination, and technical compliance.
  4. The project is to be built under an EPC Contract, and you will lead and represent the Owner in dealings with the EPC Contractor.
  5. As the CCGT specialist / Chief Resident Engineer, you will lead the site team and be the key point of contact for the client and the EPC Contractor.
  6. Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all EPC activities meet the required standards.
  7. Ensure compliance with safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of all personnel on-site.
  8. Manage the project budget, ensuring costs are controlled and financial targets are met.
  9. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
  10. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  11. You will be supported by a team of Lead Engineers across various engineering phases.
  12. HSSE - ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Here's what you'll need
  • You will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with Chartered Status (preferred).
  • Significant relevant years of experience as Project Director/Project Manager/Construction Manager in a similar role.
  • Previous experience working for a consultant as an Owner's Engineer project will be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience with Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) project delivery.
  • Local experience in Malaysia will be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to share knowledge within the team and across the organization.

  • A proactive spirit with the ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders.
