Job description

PRIMARY DUTIES

This individual will be responsible for preparing, conducting laboratory testing, experimenting with samples, preparing trial samples in the HB Fuller technology line of Hot Melt chemistry. Responsibilities include securing raw materials, preparing samples, measuring physical properties, testing performance properties, and operating R&D laboratory equipment.

This is a highly hands-on, lab bench work position. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and ensuring test equipment is in good working order, managing inventory of raw materials, standard substrates, and finished products, and keeping the lab environment clean through 5S practices. The technician will also generate SOPs for tests and equipment operation within their responsibilities.

The Technician II must perform complex, simultaneous laboratory tasks accurately and efficiently. They should communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers, and be capable of troubleshooting problems independently. Flexibility and the ability to quickly reprioritize and organize daily work based on changing business needs are essential.

The Technician II shall adhere to the responsibilities outlined in the Planview, Quality Management System, Safety Practices, and SOPs for the site, laboratory, and technical center.
