Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee all aspects of financial management, control, and reporting for our operations. The Finance Manager will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, forecasting, accounts, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and relevant local regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including long-term financial planning.
  • Prepare regular financial performance reviews, variance analysis against budget/forecast, and provide insightful commentary and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and new business opportunities.
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS and other statutory requirements.
  • Oversee the full spectrum of financial and accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information and safeguard company assets.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

  • Manage the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs and optimizing the use of funds.
  • Oversee banking relationships and manage bank accounts.
  • Manage foreign exchange exposure and implement hedging strategies where appropriate.

Strategic Contribution:

  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  • Partner with other departments to drive business performance and operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects, including system implementations or process improvements, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), local tax laws, and company law.
