Job description

Buyer – Offshore Maintenance Project (Oil & Gas)

Manage end-to-end procurement processes for materials, equipment, and services specific to offshore maintenance projects in the Oil & Gas sector.

Liaise with technical and project teams to clarify material requirements and ensure timely delivery to support maintenance schedules.

Source and evaluate potential suppliers/subcontractors to ensure compliance with technical, quality, and safety standards.

Obtain and evaluate quotations, conduct commercial evaluations, and negotiate best value deals.

Prepare and issue CBE and PO, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and company policies.

Monitor and expedite order deliveries to meet offshore project timelines.

Resolve procurement-related issues including delays, shortages, or non-conformance.

Maintain procurement documentation and supplier records for audit and reporting purposes.

Support contract administration and vendor performance evaluations.

Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations (e.g., PETRONAS standards).

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a procurement role within the Oil & Gas industry, preferably offshore or maintenance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, vendor management, and negotiation techniques.
  • Familiarity with offshore logistics, materials, and industry-specific certifications/standards.
  • Proficiency in NAV System is preferred.
  • Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of local and international vendors for oil & gas equipment and services.
  • Understanding of offshore safety requirements and practices.
