An established industry player is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations and strategic planning. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing budgets and cash flow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property development, proven experience in fundraising, and excellent leadership skills. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and regulatory bodies.
Manage budgeting, cash flow, and cost control functions.
Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
2. Strategic Planning
Provide strategic recommendations to the Director based on financial analysis and projections.
Conduct feasibility studies and financial modelling for new projects and investments.
Evaluate financial risks, opportunities, and capital structuring for developments.
3. Project Finance & Funding
Structure and secure project financing (e.g., bridging loans, term loans).
Maintain relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
Monitor project financing drawdowns, repayments, and interest servicing.
4. Tax & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure proper tax planning (including Real Property Gains Tax - RPGT and stamp duties).
Ensure compliance with LHDN, BNM, REHDA guidelines, and other local regulations.
Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
Monitor corporate governance and compliance with legal requirements.
Lead and mentor the finance team.
Work closely with other departments (e.g., Project, Contract, Sales, Legal).
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or MICPA.
MBA or Master's degree in Finance is an added advantage.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
Strong background in the property development or real estate industry.
Proven track record in fundraising, financial structuring, and project viability analysis.
In-depth knowledge of MFRS, Companies Act 2016, and relevant tax regulations.
Familiarity with property development cycles, land acquisition, construction costing.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
