Job description

NI is now part of Emerson. NI is Emerson's Test and Measurement (T&M) Business Unit.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  1. Research and propose alternative parts with effective solutions considering the avoidance of major software & product calibration, hardware topology changes to replace EOL parts in NI products.
  2. Implement and simulate designs using CAD and synthesis tools, e.g., Mentor Graphics.
  3. Verify and validate hardware redesigns and debug issues that may arise.
  4. Possess good knowledge in failure analysis to identify root causes during early VnV and MFG builds.
  5. Integrate DFM inputs from MFG to improve product yield & quality.
  6. Proactively create mock-up designs as POC (Proof of Concept) to strengthen redesign proposals for final approval from domain leaders.
  7. Apply RCA techniques, such as fishbone diagrams, to identify and narrow down root causes.
  8. Document failure reports and project progress, sharing short and long-term design solutions with stakeholders.
  9. Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise.
  10. Lead the team in developing product and design documentation.
  11. Create debug tools and training materials for MFG during product releases.

Who You Are:

You demonstrate strong initiative in challenging situations and excel at recognizing and acting on opportunities. You streamline tasks and create efficient workflows. Your communication is adaptable, aligning content and style to suit various parties, and you adjust quickly to changing circumstances.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in analog design with expertise in board-level design or VHDL/System Verilog.
  • B.Eng/M.Eng/BS/MS in electrical or computer engineering.
  • HDL IP design expertise or board-level digital circuit design expertise.
  • Experience defining routing constraints for high-speed interfaces.
  • Experience in circuit design with CPU/SoC/Micro-controller.
  • Proficiency with standard hardware lab equipment including scopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies.
  • Test automation expertise with scripting/programming languages.
  • Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
