Job description

1. Background

CorpsAfrica provides young Africans with a transformative experience to participate in their countries' development and find their place in the world. Inspired by the Peace Corps model, Volunteers undergo rigorous training and live for up to one year in rural, high-poverty communities to facilitate small-scale, high-impact projects through Community-led Development (CLD). Over the last decade, CorpsAfrica has expanded from Morocco to Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, The Gambia, and Ethiopia, with programs in Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria launching soon. For more information, visit our website https://www.corpsafrica.org.

While project outcomes are routinely tracked and reported, the organization aims to better capture impact beyond standard metrics, including mindset change, household financial well-being, and volunteer impact.

2. Scope of Work

The consultant will:

  1. Review and advise on the current M&E framework, tools, processes, and reporting mechanisms for scalability (20% LOE).
  2. Develop measurement methodologies for impact areas outside standard reporting, such as:
  • Projects impacting household financial well-being (e.g., kitchen gardens, road repairs)
  • Mindset change related to community-led development
  • Sustainability of CLD projects
  • Impact of CorpsAfrica services on Volunteers
  • Facilitate engagement and capacity building through validation workshops and training (10%).
  • Deliverables
    1. Inception report
    2. Impact measurement methodologies and initial implementation plan
    3. Recommendations on current M&E framework and tools
    4. Capacity-building plan
    5. Final report and presentation
    Timeline

The consultancy is expected to last three months, starting June 9th, including attendance at an all-organizational event in Nairobi during the week of June 15th.

    Qualifications
    • Proven experience in organizational M&E system design, including qualitative and participatory methods
