Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the performance of supplier quality engineering activities to ensure that the company's products meet all required standards and specifications. This role will primarily be focused on electronics and electronic assemblies.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to monitor performance and compliance.
    • Work collaboratively with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Quality System Management:
    • Ensure suppliers implement the company's quality management system (QMS) and industry standards (e.g., ISO9001).
    • Review and report on supplier key performance indicators
  • New Supplier Qualification:
    • Evaluate potential new suppliers for capability and reliability
    • Assist in supplier onboarding and training programs
  • Problem Resolution:
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier-related non-conformances.
    • Implement effective problem-solving techniques to address supplier quality issues.
    • Track and trend supplier performance data to identify areas for improvement
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Assist with initiatives to drive continuous improvement in supplier quality.
    • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality improvement methodologies
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and manufacturing, to resolve quality problems.
    • Communicate effectively with internal collaborators and suppliers to ensure alignment on quality expectations and requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to supplier quality activities.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Proficiency in English
  • Work hours must be flexible to meet business needs in customer critical investigations.
  • Microsoft office suite proficiency
  • Working knowledge of industry standards such as ISO9001, etc.
  • Ability to work independently toward established goals and exercise good judgment
  • Able to perform failure analysis and process capability functions
  • Internal/external audit experience
  • Occasional travel required: both domestic and international.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Relevant degree holder in engineering or related technical field with minimum 3 years working experience in similar role in an electronic or contract electronics manufacturing environment
  • Experience in related position
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Able to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Proficiency in quality tools and software (e.g., Minitab, SAP, etc.).
