Job description

Position Title: Quality Control Executive

Location: Malacca, Malaysia

Position Type: Contract

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Executive to join our QC team in Malacca. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on microbiological testing—particularly for culture media and sterility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document QC testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished culture media products in compliance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze QC data, identify trends, and report deviations from specifications.
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain accurate and timely QC records, ensuring documentation meets regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining SOPs, quality procedures, and internal documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits to monitor compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Ensure timely calibration and maintenance of QC equipment; report any equipment-related issues.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance QC efficiency and reduce error.
  • Train production personnel on QC procedures.
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints regarding product quality, ensuring preventive measures are implemented.
  • Monitor quality of materials from external vendors and collaborate to resolve issues.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of microbiological testing, especially in prepared culture media and sterility testing, is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards is added advantage.
