Position: Automation Engineer

Location: Flex PTP

Reporting to: Automation Manager

The Automation Engineer is responsible for specifying, designing, and maintaining automation equipment, tooling, and applications to meet specifications.

What a typical day looks like:
  1. Design, engineer, and modify automation equipment, tooling, and applications to automate manufacturing processes.
  2. Create technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and processes.
  3. Understand machine operating standards, wear and tear of parts, and product defects.
  4. Ensure uptime through regular preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  5. Willingness to learn and enhance skills in various automation equipment.
  6. Conduct root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
  7. Provide feedback to improve process and equipment design.
  8. Manage daily departmental activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production.
  9. Coordinate maintenance with engineering and operations for efficient department functioning.
  10. Collaborate on planning and maintaining the automation framework for new products.
  11. Identify and implement changes to improve existing automation processes.
  12. Understand customer requirements and suggest automation solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in automation engineering in high-tech electronics or related industries.
  • Experience in mechatronics design, including robots and cobots.
  • Proficiency in automated control systems, including PLC programming.
  • Experience with automatic camera recognition devices.
  • Circuit design skills for equipment.
