Job Description

Shared Service Operations
  • Develop and lead the long-term vision for the finance shared service department, including analyzing cost structure, service consistency, and process optimization to provide excellent finance services across UEM Edgenta.
  • Work proactively with other finance functions to translate strategy, policy, tools, and processes into service operations, supporting the implementation of finance solutions aligned with Edgenta-specific needs and the finance operating model.
  • Establish and lead a technology-driven finance shared services department to manage daily activities supporting the business by partnering with the COE and business controllers at divisions.
Service Delivery & Quality
  • Manage the complete service delivery for accounting processes (Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets) across business units and legal entities within Malaysia, in line with company strategy and requirements.
  • Lead and ensure high-quality, efficient delivery of all accounting services across Business Units and legal entities within Malaysia to meet business goals and SLAs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor SLAs, including metrics, reporting, and budget management to ensure performance aligns with goals.
Operational Effectiveness & Efficiency
  • Plan and manage the finance shared service department's budget to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and review processes to reduce errors, maximize automation, and improve efficiency, partnering with COEs for continuous improvement.
  • Assist the CFO in managing projects that support the development of the finance shared service, proactively addressing service delivery issues.
Governance
  • Collaborate with COE to ensure governance of MFRS accounting policies, procedures, and processes, including enabling technologies, to provide effective financial management and safeguard the company's interests.
Regulatory & Legal Requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements, including company law, financial, and tax regulations, to maintain the company's reputation and interests.
Best Practices & Standards Management
  • Develop and promote the use of best practices, organizational models, processes, and standards in accounting, monitoring their implementation and outcomes for performance excellence.
Stakeholder Relations
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to understand business needs and develop appropriate solutions. Manage third-party vendors to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Regularly liaise with business controllers and finance functions to gather feedback and identify improvement areas.
People Management & Development
  • Lead talent management and development within the finance shared service department, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop staff capabilities and promote leadership within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in finance/accounting with leadership roles.
  • Experience leading complex, international matrix organizations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in accounting and technical processes.
