An established financial services group is seeking a skilled risk modeller to enhance their insights framework. In this pivotal role, you will conduct risk modelling and develop advanced insights to support strategic decision-making across various risk pillars. Collaborating with a talented team, you will standardize processes and automate insights, ensuring timely deployment of models. Identify risk modelling & insights use cases for all risk pillars and align to the bank’s business objectives.
Conduct initial assessment including cost-benefit assessment to prioritise POCs of use cases.
Assist the Head of Department to set up the risk modelling & insights framework, defining ongoing modelling & insights activities across risk types, regions, and customer segments.
Establish an advanced modelling & insights toolkit for the team, including strategic tools and platforms based on model types.
Perform risk modelling & insights on portfolio segments to generate decision-making insights.
Develop forward-looking models to support risk management.
Standardize and automate core insights for ongoing use.
Coordinate with the Enterprise Risk team to incorporate BAU risk insights into reports.
Create formal procedures for activities like sampling and clustering, and for models such as regressions and decision trees.
Develop documentation for model testing and outcomes.
Set up data and technology infrastructure for timely deployment of models and approaches.
Collaborate with Group Analytics CoE to access clean and ready data sets efficiently.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or equivalent.
Minimum 6 years of experience in insight and statistical modelling roles, preferably in banking & insurance.
Ability to derive insights from business problems and communicate solutions clearly.
