Sports Direct Malaysia is currently looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to join our growing team.

Job Description

As an Assistant Shop Manager, you will assist the Shop Manager in the overall operations and performance of the shop. Your responsibilities include managing staff, stock, sales, service, systems, and other shop-related matters.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in leading, training, motivating, and managing the outlet team to deliver excellent service across all departments.
  2. Ensure all team members observe and adhere to company policies, rules, and regulations.
  3. Work with the team to achieve the shop's monthly sales targets.
  4. Monitor stock delivery and processing.
  5. Ensure all Operational and Customer Service SOPs are followed within the shop.
  6. Manage and monitor product display arrangements according to VM guidelines as assigned by the Shop Manager.
  7. Conduct daily morning briefings, providing product knowledge, policy updates, and training.
  8. Supervise all team members and attend to customer inquiries.
  9. Oversee shop operations and maintain consistent retail standards in the absence of the Shop Manager.
  10. Coordinate with departments on shop maintenance and cleanliness.
  11. Assist in stock taking, including routine, ad-hoc, and annual counts.
  12. Review and track sales performance, set daily targets, and ensure achievement.
  13. Maintain effective communication with Head Office and relevant departments to ensure smooth operations and address people-related matters.
  14. Review staff performance to identify talents and opportunities for retention.
  15. Ensure accuracy of tills reports and cash collections.
  16. Implement sales and promotion plans as required.
  17. Support Shop Manager in addressing suspicious activities within the premises.
  18. Perform other legal duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
  • Certificate/Diploma in Retail Management or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in reputable retail companies of similar size.
  • Passion and knowledge of sports is an advantage.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work long hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
  • Open to relocation.
