Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC)

The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) is an independent body established under the Competition Commission Act 2010 to enforce the Competition Act 2010. The Acts aim to encourage national economic development by promoting and protecting market competition and safeguarding consumer interests.

Main Functions of the Commission

The Competition Commission Act 2010 empowers MyCC to enforce the Competition Act, issue guidelines, advocate for competition, conduct studies, and educate the public on benefits of competition.

Candidate Eligibility

  • Must be a Malaysian citizen.
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the closing date of the application.

Language Qualification

  • Must have at least Grade C in Malay Language at the Malaysian Certificate of Education or equivalent recognized qualification.

Position: Director, Investigation and Enforcement Division, Grade E14

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with honors or Master’s degree in Economics, Law, or related fields recognized by the Government, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Or an Honors Bachelor's Degree from local institutions or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in investigation and enforcement or related areas.
  • Knowledge of competition policies and laws, domestic or international.
  • Familiarity with government policies and experience liaising with government agencies.
  • Excellent bilingual communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in a third language is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills; ability to build stakeholder relationships.

Desirable qualities include commitment, interpersonal skills, resilience, professionalism, and integrity. Responsibilities encompass policy formulation, investigation management, enforcement, reporting, and staff supervision, among others.
