Engtex Metals Sdn Bhd is involved in the manufacturing of STEEL BAR, BRC & PC Strand and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Engtex Group Berhad, a public listed Company in the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia (KLSE). We invite applications for the following position to be based at our Ijok Factory, Selangor:

Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Officer

Responsibilities

  • Advise and instruct on various safety, health & environment related topics
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
  • Review existing SHE documentation, implementation and measures and update according to latest legislation
  • Initiate and organize SHEtraining of employees and executives
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issuesor non-conformity
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes andhandle worker’s compensation claims
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring safety, health and environment (SHE) policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices
  • Conducting risk assessments, audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
    Experience in waste management and well versed with Regulated Act
  • Good relationship with DOSH, Jabatan Alam Sekitar and other regulators.
  • Delivering SHE training and awareness programmes to employees at all levels
    Investigating incidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate SHE considerations into all aspects of the business
    Preparing and submitting regulatory reports and maintaining accurate SHE records
  • Staying up-to-date with relevant SHE legislation, regulations and industry best practices
    To get and sustain any relevant certification regarding SHE that required by management

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience assafety, health & Environment officer
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for safety, health & Environment
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Diligent with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain safety, health and environment topics
  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field
  • Must have Green Book
  • Certified Cepswam is an Advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address SHE risks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Thorough understanding of relevant SHE legislation and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiar with local and international SHE standards (OHSAS and MS)
  • Willing to learn regarding ESG
  • Good attendance and attitude
