Job Description

A vital role within the organisation, this candidate will be responsible for amendment and updating of company templates and policies, also with an involvement in strategic initiatives. Responsibilities for this role include:

  • To draft, develop, and maintain contracts and other commercial agreements in accordance with company guidelines.
  • To amend and update all company templates and policies to ensure they are up to date and in line with the company's plans, goals, and requirements for day to day activities.
  • Maintain and be the custodian of all group-approved MS contracts and commercial agreement templates including those within the digital Contract Lifecycle Management tool (CLM) and templates that are awaiting configuration.
  • Identification and timely escalation to stakeholders of potential legal and commercial challenges and/or non-standard terms in the necessary documentation.
  • Work with stakeholders from the global legal team to roll out prepare, advise on and implement the necessary checklists to ensure that information is shared across the relevant departments and is submitted on a timely manner.
  • Raise awareness within the commercial and client services teams on changes to MSBL policies and procedures.
  • Design and provide training to commercial stakeholders (and members of the Legal Team) on new products, initiatives and services.
  • Provide support to other members of the Legal Team, wherever required from time to time.
  • Ensure contract compliance and use of the relevant systems for MS products and services and MSBL regions.

The Successful Applicant

It is imperative that the candidate has a strong attention to detail and is very meticulous in their work. Requirements for this candidate are as follows:

  • Good legal (contract law), commercial and business skills.
  • LLB with 2 to 4 years of PQE
  • Prior experience responding to tenders / RFPs is desirable.
  • Experience with CLM tools is desirable
  • Efficient and well organized.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision across international boundaries and liaise effectively on a remote basis.
  • Good analytical and examination skills, attention to detail and an ability to propose creative options and make recommendations that balance practicality and business acumen within a legal, risk management and compliance framework.
  • Strong collaborative capabilities with a keen interest in gathering the opinions of others and objectively assessing and considering them.
  • A team player, with excellent work ethics and high level of professionalism.
  • Results driven and self-motivated; willing to be hands-on and operational - a "doer".
  • Persuasive, articulate with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Commercially minded.
  • Culturally sensitivity and effective in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assertive, resilient and patient.
