Financial Management: Planning, Analysis, Reporting and Risk Mitigation

Lead and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations including budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management, highlight key metrics, trends and insights.

Conduct in depth financial analysis and scenario modelling to evaluate business opportunities and risk.

Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial data to support strategic decision making.

Assess and mitigate financial risks by implementing robust internal control systems.

Monitor and analyze financial KPIs such as Gross Profit Margin, EBITDA, and Return on Investment (ROI).

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

Monitor daily, weekly and monthly cash flow to ensure liquidity for business operations.

Optimize working capital cycles by managing payables, receivables, and inventory levels.

Forecast cash needs and implement strategies to maintain a healthy cash position.

Ensure timely collection of accounts receivables and strategize for efficient vendor payments.

Cost Control & Expense Optimizations

Develop cost-reduction strategies to improve profitability across food cost, labour cost, and overheads.

Monitor and analyze COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Work closely with operations and supply chain department to improve purchasing efficiencies and reduce wastage.

Implement financial controls to prevent unnecessary expenditures and enhance cost efficiency.

Accounting Operations

Supervise the preparation of financial statements, management reports and statutory accounts.

Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS)

Regularly review and enhance accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes.

Ensure reconciliation of bank accounts, sales reports, and inventory records.

Compliance & Auditing

Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. SST, corporate tax, income tax & e-invoice)

Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth audits and inspections.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting of treasury transactions.

Implement and enforce internal controls to mitigate financial risks and prevent fraud.

Process Improvement and Internal Control

Identify opportunities for process improvements in budgeting and forecasting methodologies, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Monitor budget performance and variances, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Banking & Relationship Management

Negotiate and optimize banking facilities, including loans, credit lines, overdrafts and trade finance facilities.

Analyse and assess financing options including bonds, loans and alternative funding sources.

Maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.

Support potential fundraising efforts, including investor presentations and capital allocation strategies.

Job Specification

Degree in Finance & Accounting, preferably CPA/ACCA/CIMA/MIA.

Professional qualification will be an added advantage.

At least 5 years of experience in AP, AR, payment processing or collections with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Familiarity with accounting systems and financial software. (SQL, AutoCount is an added advantage)

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in managing financial transactions.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Strong communication and negotiation skills for handling after department relations and other stakeholder.

Proactive, solution-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.

Leadership and team management skills.
