To prepare and present for approval of the BOD the annual budget, financial statements, and relevant reports as required from time to time.
To alert the MD, Exco & BOD and to caution any irregularity, lack of compliance, lack of adherence, and problems whether actual or potential concerning the financial systems, financial operations, accounting, audits, budgets, and any other matters of a financial nature or which could or does have a financial implication.
Responsible for the management of the company’s insurance and risk management program.
Oversee the annual insurance renewal process and ensure appropriate coverage is maintained at all times.
Oversee the external audit, review and analyze results, and recommend for approval the audited financial statements.
Evaluate possible tax savings and planning to minimize tax exposure.
Involve in financing and hedging activities of the company.
Direct all aspects of planning and estimation processes related to annual budgeting and strategic plans as well as monthly forecasts.
Provide monthly financial reporting to head office.
Present monthly and year-to-date financials with analysis of results.
Analyze revenue and expense trends, profitability, and benchmarks against competitors.
Evaluate corporate investment decisions to ensure the most efficient use of financial resources.
Monitor the company’s financial position and make recommendations for funding strategies.
Maintain a deep understanding of company contracts and key relationships and how these affect the P&L.
Support development of internal financial controls and their implementation.
Report to the MD, Exco, and BOD on financial, tax, treasury, and regulatory issues as directed.
Approve and coordinate the selection of changes to and improvements in the company’s financial and management information systems.
Coordinate the preparation of ad hoc specific analyses and information reports.
Develop and manage banking relationships.
Analyze financial statements to identify strengths, potential weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Evaluate finance department structure and team, plan for continual improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, and provide opportunities for professional and personal growth.
Facilitate continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
Develop credibility for the finance department by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends to assist senior management.
Participate in the development of the company’s strategic plans.
Coordinate year-end audits and periodic audits by internal departments.
Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process with the MD, monitor progress, and keep Exco and BOD informed of financial status.
Work with Group Risk Management to develop the Company’s ERM.
Oversee IT, enable technology to meet business needs, and manage the entire IT budget.
Drive change to an HR Business Partnering organization and restructure the company to meet future growth challenges.
Participate in annual salary increments and bonus reviews.
Review regularly the company’s remuneration policy, including market competitiveness, benefits, reward structures, and internal equity.
Ensure continuous improvement of HR operations and programs.
Attract, motivate, develop, and retain talent through effective resourcing, talent management, performance, and reward programs.
Discuss with the MD the strategic direction of employee relations, recruiting, and compensation strategies.
Provide coaching and counseling to employees and management.
Be responsible for directing all HR functions and setting strategic HR direction.
