CapX Solutions is a Kuala Lumpur–based consultancy helping global businesses make smarter capital investment decisions through DCF modeling, scenario analysis, and feasibility studies. We work with SMEs, corporates, and investors across retail, hospitality, property, manufacturing and many other sectors.

Role Overview

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team. This role is critical in supporting capital expenditure analysis, developing DCF models, and delivering insights that drive strategic investment decisions for our clients. You’ll work closely with the founder and clients to develop financial models, evaluate investment cases, and present data-backed recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and customize DCF and financial models across various industries.
• Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to support decision-making.
• Analyze investment opportunities such as renovations, expansions, new equipment purchases, and divestments.
• Collaborate with clients to gather inputs, understand business drivers, and validate assumptions.
• Prepare financial reports, memos, and presentations for client engagements and board meetings.
• Research industry benchmarks and support comparative analysis.
• Ensure models are audit-ready, accurate, and aligned with CapX’s consulting methodology.
• Support the development of CapX’s proprietary tools and templates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in financial modeling, investment analysis, or consulting.
• Proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets with strong formula and modeling skills.
• Experience building DCF, IRR, and NPV models from scratch.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Comfortable presenting insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in consulting, capex-heavy industries, or start-ups is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with global market dynamics and SME sector.
• Experience using PowerPoint, Canva, or Google Slides for client deliverables.
• Exposure to feasibility studies, lease vs. buy analysis, or divestment evaluation.
• Knowledge of cloud-based accounting tools or data visualization platforms (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is a bonus.
