Functions as the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation, and delivering a return on investment to both Marriott International and property ownership. Verifies implementation of service strategy and initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations, increased profit, and market share. Holds property leadership team accountable for strategy execution and guides their individual professional development. The position verifies that sales engines are leveraged and initiates independent and proactive sales activities, when appropriate, to generate demand. Verifies that the objectives and goals of Marriott and property owners work together to achieve brand positioning and success. Builds owner loyalty through proactive communication, setting and managing expectations, and delivering solid business results. The position is actively involved in the local community and builds strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers.
The ideal candidate for this role would have previous work experience in Malaysia or Asia Pacific as a General Manager.
Stays current with industry trends, monitors competitors' strengths and weaknesses, explores new business opportunities, develops business plans to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share, and ensures alignment with hotel’s strategies. Translates Marriott global strategic plan into actionable plans for the property.
Implements business plans to maximize satisfaction, profitability, and market share; ensures team alignment; evaluates success to inform future plans; continually improves strategies for positive performance impact.
Collaborates with Sales and Marketing to develop revenue strategies, identifies leads, and ensures strategies align with brand goals. Leverages Marriott demand engines and enhances guest preferences through quality interactions.
Builds a high-performance Executive Committee, coaches leaders, creates development opportunities, and plans for succession. Supports staffing processes and maximizes team performance.
Reviews data such as market share, financials, and customer satisfaction to proactively adapt strategies, operate within budgets, and improve performance.
Ensures fair treatment, fosters open communication, and collaborates with HR to maximize engagement and address labor issues.
Works with revenue team to develop pricing strategies, forecast demand, and optimize occupancy and revenue metrics. Controls expenses effectively.
Maintains strong relationships with owners through communication, performance analysis, and value creation initiatives.
Engages with guests and the community to gather feedback, recognize service excellence, and promote the brand image through community involvement and strategic alliances.
Ensures compliance with safety, legal, operational, and brand standards through audits and training. Maintains well-kept, safe, and guest-ready facilities.
