Job Description
- Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that aligns with the organization's long-term goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with union representatives and shop stewards.
- Drive a culture of engagement, inclusivity and high performance.
- Lead the collective bargaining process, negotiate labor agreements and facilitate effective communication between management and union leadership.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment, retention, and talent development strategies.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures and programs that meet the needs of the organization and its employees.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations related to employee benefits, compensation, and employment practices.
- Analyze HR metrics and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including grievances and disputes.
- Drive organizational change initiatives that support the organization's long-term goals and objectives.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Head Of HR Should Have
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with Union exposure is a must.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in leading collective bargaining and negotiating labor agreements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think strategically, anticipate trends, and develop and implement proactive solutions.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies and initiatives.
