Business Development Manager Europe – Metal Additive Manufacturing
Location: Nuremberg
Our client, a unit of a multibillion-dollar global conglomerate, is a leading provider of metal additive engineering, manufacturing, and services to the Industrial, Automotive, Heavy Engineering, Aerospace, and other sectors. This is a newly created role responsible for business development, sales, and deploying market-facing strategies and action plans for customer identification and acquisition to achieve revenue, branding, and marketing objectives. The role is home office based anywhere in Germany and will cover Germany as well as the rest of Europe.
Requirements:
- University degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, or metallurgy
- Approximately 10 years of experience in front-line sales and business development for an OEM or direct supplier with a successful track record selling to the automotive and industrial sectors
- Fluent in German and English; additional European languages are an advantage
- Excellent professional network including decision-makers from engineering, R&D, strategy, and CXO levels in client organizations
- Demonstrated experience in building a strong sales organization focused on technical solutions, concepts, and emerging technology
- Comfortable working in a start-up environment
- Experience in additive manufacturing production services, components engineering, and manufacturing to print, as well as application engineering service providers
- Experience with project management processes; served as project manager for major projects
- Self-driven with experience in an international, cross-cultural business environment and an entrepreneurial mindset
- Existing exposure to the metal additive manufacturing industry ecosystem, players, and customers is highly preferable
Responsibilities:
- Identify customers, markets, and needs; work with technical teams to customize, create, and sell metal additive manufacturing solutions and services in Europe
- Create and deliver consulting opportunities in the metal additive manufacturing space
- Identify market trends and develop solutions to meet those trends
- Build trusted partner relationships to drive long-term, solution-based sales
- Provide technical support, including applications and process-related support
- Develop targeted competition and market analysis
- Participate in conferences, seminars, and exhibitions to enhance visibility and recall
- Leverage technical industry experience to achieve objectives
- Lead the development of strategic alliances to meet revenue and reach targets
