To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for electrical engineering and the preparation of drawings and 3D modeling required for the execution of industrial projects (Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Mission Critical projects – Data Centre) from concept design, FEED design, to detailed design.

Responsibilities

1. Review and analyze regulatory requirements and safety design standards.
2. Prepare high-quality engineering deliverables within agreed timelines.
3. Responsible for preparing all drawings and documents with minimal assistance from engineers, including:

• Electrical single line diagrams
• Electrical equipment and cable route layouts
• Electrical 3D modeling
• Electrical schematic diagrams
• Electrical distribution panel diagrams
• Electrical junction box and main cable routing
• Electrical hookup drawings
• Electrical installation details
• Electrical load lists
• Electrical voltage drop calculations and cable lists
• Electrical specifications
• Lighting studies
• Grounding and lighting studies
• Electrical substation and high voltage incoming design
• Generator and UPS capacity design
• Short circuit studies
• Extra low voltage designs such as CCTV, security, door access, and IT networks
• Basic understanding of electrical design calculations, cable routing, electrical and extra low voltage hookup, electrical mains switchboards, and schematic diagrams
• Teamwork and support for other disciplines
• Coordinate clash detection with other disciplines
• Perform designs and drawings using CAD

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 6-10+ years of experience in instrumentation engineering, preferably in industrial projects
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia
• Experienced in EPCM work environment
• Proficient in tools and software such as AutoCAD, SP3D, PDMS, AVEVA E3D, and Revit
• Thorough knowledge of Malaysia codes, local regulations, and international standards (IEC, NEMA, ISA)
• Experience working in multicultural and hybrid environments is an added value
• Site installation experience is advantageous
• Good communication skills
