Position: Senior Structural Engineer
Role Purpose:
Lead, plan, and manage all stages of Structural Engineering from design to installation for Wellhead Platforms, Offshore structures, and major modifications. Develop, review, and ensure structural and T&I design compliance with project specs, CPOC, and international standards. Provide specialist input for Subsea Field Development, FEED, EPC, and EPCIC phases. Represent COMPANY during fabrication and installation. Coordinate with disciplines, support related departments, participate in technical reviews, and liaise with consultants and contractors to avoid delays and ensure project success. Monitor and support onshore construction, offshore installation and commissioning.
- Develop, design, and review Structural and T&I design/engineering work basis per project specifications for greenfield, brownfield, and modification projects. Ensure compliance with project requirements, CPOC, and international standards.
- Provide specialist expertise on Subsea Field Development projects including conceptual study, FEED, pre-FEED, and Field Development Studies. Review structural design analyses, drawings, calculations, and reports.
- During EPCIC, represent COMPANY in all Structural design, fabrication, and installation aspects.
- Oversee methodology for consistent work approaches. Participate in HAZID, Model Reviews, CRA, and technical integrity reviews. Review and own all T&I procedures and plans.
- Coordinate with other discipline teams to resolve design issues, assess risks, and implement improvements.
- Provide specialist Structural Engineering input to departments such as Operations, Maintenance, and Inspection. Support other departments from a structural engineering perspective.
- Liaise with 3rd Party CONSULTANTS & CONTRACTORs for technical clarifications and engineering support during Conceptual, FEED, EPC, and EPCIC phases to avoid delays.
Qualification And Experience
Education:
- Bachelors degree in civil, Structural, or Offshore Engineering from a recognized university.
- Masters Degree in Structural or Offshore Engineering is an advantage.
Professional Qualification:
- Registered Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer status (or actively pursuing it) is preferred.
- Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET/FOET) are an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant structural engineering experience in the offshore oil & gas or energy sector.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in offshore structural design, analysis, and integrity assessment for fixed platforms, jackets, topsides, or subsea structures.
- Experience with relevant international codes and standards (API RP2A, ISO, DNV, AISC, AWS, etc.).
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., SACS, STAAD.Pro, BOCAD, SESAM, or ANSYS).
- Familiar with offshore construction methods and load-out, transportation, lifting, and installation engineering.
- Knowledge in fatigue, dynamic, pre-service, in-place analysis, pushover, seismic, etc.
- Naval Architecture Engineering will be considered an advantage
- Site works such as Onshore Construction and/or Offshore Installation will be considered an advantage
