Production Supervisor / Superintendent / Team Lead (Based at Kulim, Kedah)

We solve the world’s toughest and most important thermal problems. As a world-class industrial technology and thermal products leader, Watlow designs and manufactures heating solutions consisting primarily of electric resistive heaters, temperature sensors, temperature and power controllers and supporting software – all the components of a thermal system. We partner with our customers to optimize thermal performance, decrease design time, and improve the efficiency of products and applications. Watlow brings 100 years of experience to numerous industries, including semiconductor processing, clean environment technology, energy generation, diesel emissions, medical and food service equipment.

Position Summary:

  • Assisting the Production Manager in planning, managing and executing production operations.
  • Lead a group of production supervisors, leaders, and operators to ensure that production lines run without any problems, minimum downtime, products are manufactured to required quality standards and adhere to customer/safety/industry-related regulations.

Skills, Abilities and Mastery (Responsibility Matrix):

Delivery:

  • Work with senior manager to develop Coaching Forward skills;
  • Communication - Communicate effectively with all team members;
  • Team Building Skills – Work with senior manager to develop a plan to ensure the WW is fully deployed;
  • Goal/Metric Deployment - Direct manufacturing operations in accordance with Value Stream Assessment (VSA) plan and strategy deployment;
  • RCCA (Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action)/Problem Solving – Solve problems rapidly utilizing the root cause corrective action process and tools;
  • Manage data from Time & Attendance System and effectively manage manpower to meet capacity requirements;
  • May lead/participate and support Lean events - Ensure that Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean techniques are being utilized to sustain daily operational improvement;
  • Utilize the daily operating system to drive PQDC (People, Quality, Delivery, Cost) performance at the cell level;
  • Assure Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) effectively deployed into production cells;
  • 6S - Ensure the development and deployment of a safe and healthy work environment including appropriate training in safety practices;
  • Follow Standard Operating Process (SOP) Production Supervisor / Senior Supervisor.

Business Partner:

  • Delivering a production plan to VSL to achieve SOFP shipments;
  • Collaborate with senior manager and Human Resources on team staffing decisions, employee relations;
  • Collaborate with the Health Safety and Environmental (HS&E) team on safety matters.

Center of Expertise (COE):

  • Production / Senior Production Roadmap.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree or Technical Qualification with related experience (3-5 years);
  • Leadership training;
  • Must be willing to work at Kulim High Tech Park, Kedah, Malaysia.
  • Must be from Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry
