Project Manager / Project Engineer (Mechanical / Civil / Electrical)
- Manage worksites for new construction as well as remodeling projects, coordinating activities and ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors during groundwork to meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and specialists; hire laborers and coordinate their schedules.
- Visit sites regularly during construction phases, including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress visits, punch walks, closeouts, and attend status and coordination meetings.
- Lead and coordinate engineering functions such as installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, design review, and vendor coordination.
- Facilitate communication among clients, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
- Serve as project manager for multiple projects, creating timelines, cost projections, organizing meetings, and ensuring compliance with specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Monitor and track project progress against schedules, prepare progress reports, and minimize delays.
- Organize workforce activities, ensuring work aligns with drawings, specifications, procedures, and approved designs.
- Conduct quality assurance and safety inspections throughout construction, ensuring a safe work environment and proper equipment condition.
- Possess knowledge of construction methods and technologies; interpret technical drawings and contracts.
- Manage change requests, informing all parties of impacts on schedule and budget.
- Verify, measure, and approve any changes or variations to the original plans with client approval prior to implementation.
- Review work for technical accuracy, identify problems, and lead problem-solving efforts.
- Coordinate internal and external efforts for proper job execution.
- Coordinate subcontractor work according to the project schedule.
- Establish and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
- Maintain relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum ten (10) years of managerial experience in civil projects, palm oil mill construction, heavy machinery installation, or structural building.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards related to C&S and M&E engineering.
- Hands-on experience in engineering and project management is advantageous.
- Preferably bilingual in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Problem-solving skills and proactive challenge resolution.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Autodesk Inventor, and project management tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Attention to detail, time management, decision-making skills, and self-motivation.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate multidisciplinary teams.
